The SECO 02733458 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in a wide range of workpiece materials. Built on the JS554 series platform, it features a 4-millimeter (0.1575 inch) mill diameter with a 48-degree helix angle and a SIRON-A coating for extended tool life. The spiral flute geometry and centercutting capability allow this tool to perform both plunge and peripheral milling operations. With a 0.3937-inch length of cut and right-hand cut and flute orientation, it is suited for precision slot milling, profiling, and pocketing applications. Machinists and toolroom professionals working in CNC machining centers are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is rated for use across multiple workpiece material categories, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, heat-resistant superalloys, and general steels. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 6-millimeter diameter fits standard collet and shrink-fit toolholding systems. The neck diameter of 0.1570 inches and neck length of 0.4610 inches provide clearance for semi-deep cavity work without excessive tool deflection. It is well suited to precision machining environments where tight tolerances and consistent surface finish are required.
Compatible with standard 6-millimeter straight-cylindrical collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and hydraulic toolholders. Workpiece material categories supported include H, K, M, N, O, P, and S per the supplier material classification codes. Length of cut range covers 0.3000 to 0.5000 inches.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of chips or debris before inserting the end mill. Verify collet size matches the 6-millimeter shank diameter and that the tool is seated to the correct gauge length before tightening. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and runout specifications for the holder type in use.
