The SECO 02730823 is a solid carbide trigon turning insert in the WNMP-MF1 series, coated with a multilayer TiAlSiN finish applied via PVD process. It carries a TH1000 manufacturer grade and is engineered for demanding metal removal in superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The insert features an 80-degree included angle, a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch (0.0157-inch) corner radius with a honed cutting edge style and MF1 chip breaker geometry. Holding options include clamp, pin, and lever lock. This insert is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
This insert is suited for CNC turning, boring, and facing operations in industrial and production machining environments. Its negative rake and neutral hand orientation make it adaptable across a range of toolholder configurations. The primary workpiece materials are superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, corresponding to ISO material codes S and H, with material grades S05 and H05. It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with an ISO code of WNMG080404-MF1 and industry standard number WNMP431-MF1.
Designed for use in WNMP-style toolholders that accept a trigon (W-shape) insert with a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle and lever lock, clamp, or pin clamping. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards; ISO equivalent designation is WNMG080404-MF1.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered off and spindle locked. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert screw per the toolholder manufacturer specifications when using screw-lock or lever-lock holders. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut for the insert grade and workpiece material combination.
