The SECO 02711647 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling across a broad range of workpiece materials. Built on the JS554 series platform, it features a 3/4-inch diameter, a 1-1/2-inch length of cut, and a 0.76 mm (0.030 inch) corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The 48-degree high-helix spiral flute geometry promotes aggressive chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. SIRON-A coating provides thermal resistance and surface hardness, making this tool well-suited for demanding applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. Machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments are the primary users.
This end mill is intended for roughing operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, hard materials, high-temperature alloys, and non-ferrous metals. The right-hand cut, right-hand flute direction, and centercutting capability allow it to be used in plunge-entry and full-profile milling operations. The straight-cylindrical shank suits standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The single-end, standard-length configuration fits most conventional tool-length requirements in production milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct application tool for use in standard 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank tool holders on vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, hard materials, high-temperature alloys, and non-ferrous metals per SECO JS554 series application guidelines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician following standard tooling change procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in a safe state before inserting or removing the tool. Use a calibrated torque wrench when securing the collet nut or end mill holder to avoid over-clamping the shank. Verify runout against the TIR maximum of 0.0004 inch using a dial indicator before starting the machining cycle.
