The SECO 02711614 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.015 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at part corners and extends tool life. The flute count is 4, with a right-hand spiral flute direction and a high helix style for efficient chip evacuation. The tool is coated with SIRON-A, an AlCrN-based coating engineered for heat resistance and wear reduction in hard and abrasive materials. Installed by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC machining centers, this end mill targets production environments where tool life and surface finish consistency are priorities.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, hard materials, high-temperature alloys, and non-ferrous metals. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as conventional and climb milling passes. Its straight cylindrical shank and standard length make it compatible with common collet and end mill holder systems used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The JS554 series is targeted at roughing material removal operations where edge strength and coating durability are critical factors.

Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Use a calibrated tool holder and verify runout does not exceed the maximum TIR of 0.0004 inches before production cuts. Tighten collet or holder fasteners to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or wear before each setup.
