The SECO 02711611 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built on the JS554 series platform, it features a 1/2 inch diameter cutting edge, a 1 inch length of cut, and four right-hand helical flutes with a 48-degree helix angle. The SIRON-A PVD coating — an AlCrN-based finish — provides thermal resistance and wear protection during aggressive cutting cycles. The 45-degree chamfer angle with a 0.006 inch chamfer width adds a protective edge break at part corners. This tool is single-end, centercutting, and built from micrograin carbide stock for tight dimensional tolerance and edge consistency. It is installed and run by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC milling environments.
This end mill is suited for shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill milling, plunging, and recessing operations. It is rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium — covering ISO material codes P, M, K, N, and S. The short flute geometry and straight-cylindrical shank make it a practical choice for general-purpose machining centers where rigidity and runout control are priorities. The h5 tolerance on both mill diameter and shank diameter supports precise fitment in standard collet and toolholder systems.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. The straight-cylindrical shank should be seated fully and evenly in a precision collet, hydraulic chuck, or shrink-fit holder to maintain runout within the 0.0004 inch TIR maximum spec. Inspect the toolholder bore and collet for wear or contamination before seating. Set spindle speeds and feed rates according to the material grade and depth-of-cut requirements for the workpiece — do not exceed holder or spindle ratings.
