The SECO 02694987 is an indexable square-shoulder face mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting applications. Built around the Power Turbo series platform, it accepts 8 XO X1806-style inserts held by clamp and screw for secure, repeatable cutting. The 3-inch cutting diameter and 0/90-degree lead angle make it well-suited for square-shoulder profiling and ramping passes. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.669 inches and a positive axial, negative radial rake geometry, the cutter is engineered to balance cutting force with chip evacuation. Through-coolant capability supports extended tool life in demanding materials.
This face mill is used in production and job-shop environments for milling flat surfaces, shoulders, and ramping operations on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The close pitch configuration with 8 flutes supports stable cutting at moderate feed rates. A maximum ramping angle of 1.50 degrees allows controlled plunge-ramp entries. It mounts via a 1-inch arbor hole, making it compatible with standard horizontal and vertical machining center spindles. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional spindle setups.
Designed for use with XO X1806-style inserts in the SECO Power Turbo series cutter platform. Fits standard 1-inch arbor interfaces on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the cutter. Torque insert screws and clamps according to the insert manufacturer specifications using calibrated tooling. Confirm arbor runout is within acceptable tolerance before initiating the first cut to avoid premature insert wear or cutter damage.
