The SECO 02689822 is an indexable square-shoulder face mill designed for high-precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built on the Super Turbo platform, it accepts seven inserts in the XOEX1204 or XOMX 1204 style and delivers a maximum cutting diameter of 3 inches with a maximum depth of cut of 0.433 inches. The arbor hole diameter measures 1 inch, and the overall tool height is 2 inches. Through-coolant capability helps manage heat and chip evacuation during aggressive cuts. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling specialists in production and job-shop environments.
The 02689822 is suited for square-shoulder milling applications including helical interpolation, ramping, and slotting. The 0/90 degree lead angle produces true 90-degree walls on workpiece shoulders. The right-hand cutting direction and combination of positive axial and negative radial rake geometry support stable, efficient chip formation. A maximum ramping angle of 1.00 degree allows controlled plunge-entry paths. This tool is appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous materials in horizontal and vertical machining centers.
Compatible with XOEX1204 and XOMX 1204 insert styles. Cutter style designation is R220.69. Designed for use on arbors with a 1 inch bore diameter. Keyway width is 9.70 mm and hub diameter is 62.00 mm.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the spindle fully powered down and locked out before mounting or removing the cutter body. Ensure the arbor and cutter bore are clean and free of debris before assembly to maintain runout tolerances. Insert seats should be inspected and cleaned before seating new inserts; use the appropriate torx or hex key specified by the insert holding hardware. Verify coolant-through connections are properly sealed and aligned before resuming operation.
