The SECO 02689797 is an indexable square-shoulder end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal-cutting applications. Built on the Super Turbo platform, this toolholder uses the R217.69-12 cutter style with a 1 inch cutting diameter and a maximum depth of cut of 0.433 inches. The M12 modular connection shank allows fast head changes without removing the full assembly from the spindle. At 1.57 inches overall length with a negative rake geometry and 90-degree lead angle, this tool is suited for high-accuracy shoulder milling where perpendicular wall finish is critical. It is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers performing square-shoulder milling on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The through-coolant feature supports high-speed cutting by delivering coolant directly to the cutting zone, extending insert life and improving chip evacuation. With a maximum spindle speed of 20,800 RPM and three insert pockets, it suits both roughing and semi-finishing passes where consistent shoulder geometry is required. The modular M12 connection is compatible with standard modular tooling systems commonly found in modern machining setups.
Compatible with XO.X 1204 insert style; full insert compatibility includes XOEX and XOMX families. ISO number R217.69-01.0012RE123AN. Designed for use with M12 modular tooling systems. Refer to the SECO Super Turbo series catalog for confirmed spindle interface pairings.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the spindle fully de-energized and locked out before any toolholder exchange. Torque the modular connection according to the machine tool builder and SECO tooling system specifications provided in the product documentation. Verify insert seating and screw torque before resuming spindle operation. Through-coolant passages should be checked for obstruction when changing inserts.
