The SECO 02688996 is an indexable square-shoulder end mill engineered for high-performance milling operations in metalworking environments. Part of the Super Turbo series, this toolholder accepts XO.X 1204.. style inserts secured by screw-clamp retention and operates at a 90-degree lead angle for true square-shoulder cuts. The 1-1/2 inch cutting diameter and 0.433 inch maximum depth of cut make it well-suited for full-width and peripheral milling passes. A 1-1/4 inch Weldon flat shank provides positive rotational engagement in the spindle, and integrated through-coolant capability supports chip evacuation and tool life at the rated 16,400 RPM maximum speed. Installed by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians, this holder weighs 1.32 pounds.
This end mill is designed for square-shoulder milling applications in production and job-shop environments where accurate 90-degree wall profiles are required. The 5-insert configuration distributes cutting load across the cutter body, supporting higher feed rates in steel, cast iron, and similar materials. The Weldon flat shank style is compatible with standard side-lock toolholders found on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The ISO designation for this toolholder is R217.69-01.50-3S12-5AN. The 2.42 inch shank length and 1.81 inch head length yield a 4.78 inch overall length suited to moderate-reach applications.
Designed for use with XO.X 1204.. style indexable inserts. The toolholder uses a 1-1/4 inch Weldon flat shank compatible with standard side-lock toolholding systems on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers. ISO number R217.69-01.50-3S12-5AN.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool magazine or turret is locked out before mounting or removing the toolholder. Confirm the side-lock set screw engages the Weldon flat fully before torquing to the machine builder specification. Verify through-coolant ports are clear and the coolant supply pressure is compatible with the machine spindle before operation.
