The SECO 02688974 is an indexable square-shoulder end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built around the R217.69-12A toolholder style, it accepts XO.X 1204.. insert style inserts secured by screw, delivering a true 90-degree lead angle for accurate shoulder milling. The cutter has a 1 inch cutting diameter and a maximum depth of cut of 0.433 inches, with a 3/4 inch Weldon flat shank and an overall length of 4 inches. With three flutes and three insert positions, it supports through-coolant delivery and is rated to 20,800 RPM, making it well suited for high-speed material removal in production environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers.
This end mill is used in milling machine and CNC machining center setups where square-shoulder profiling, face milling, and slotting operations are required. The 90-degree lead angle produces true right-angle shoulders on workpieces, making this tool common in die and mold work, general part machining, and production runs involving steel, cast iron, and similar materials. The through-coolant feature helps manage heat and chip evacuation at elevated feed rates. The Super Turbo series designation indicates this toolholder is part of SECO's high-productivity indexable milling platform.
Designed for use with the R217.69-12A toolholder style and compatible with XO.X 1204.. series inserts. Part of the SECO Super Turbo indexable milling system.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or changing inserts. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the holder and torque the set screw to the machine or toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify insert seating and screw torque before running at elevated spindle speeds.
