The SECO 02687570 is a solid carbide ball nose milling insert designed for use in rotating milling cutters in metalworking and machining applications. Manufactured to the 218.20-0.250ER-M03 standard, it carries a manufacturer grade of F40M with a fine grain carbide substrate and a PVD-applied dual coating of TiAlN and TiN. The insert is 0.0992 inches thick with an inscribed circle diameter of 0.2150 inches and a corner radius of 0.2500 inches. It features two cutting edges, a positive rake angle of 7 degrees, a relief angle of 11 degrees, and a honed cutting edge style. Installation is via screw-holding method.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The F40M grade and TiAlN plus TiN coating combination make it appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing passes on a range of workpiece materials encountered in general machining, die-mold, and aerospace component work. It is a right-hand, single-sided insert intended for use by machinists and CNC tooling specialists in shop and production environments.
Compatible with the R218.20-0.500 cutter series. Conforms to ANSI and ISO code 218.20-0.250ER-M03.
Milling inserts are installed and serviced by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer when seating the clamping screw. Inspect the cutter body pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before installing a new insert.
