The SECO 02686682 is a Polycrystalline Cubic Boron Nitride (PCBN) turning insert designed for high-hardness material machining applications. It carries the CNGA insert style with an 80-degree diamond shape, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, and a 0.0315-inch corner radius. The insert features a TiAlSiN multilayer PVD coating applied via PCBN process and is classified under manufacturer grade CBN060K with material grades H10 and H20. With a chamfered and honed cutting edge and negative rake geometry, it is suited for finishing and semi-finishing operations in hard turning. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists working with hardened steels, cast irons, and similar materials are the primary installers and operators of this insert.
This insert is intended for use in CNC turning, facing, and boring operations on hard materials and super-alloys including titanium. It fits into CNGA-style toolholders using clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods. The flat-top chip breaker design and neutral hand orientation make it applicable across a range of turning setups. It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with an ISO code of CNGA120408S-01525-L1-B and an industry standard number of CNGA432S-00625-L1-B. The insert size code is 432. This is a multi-tipped insert with 2 cutting edges, supporting extended tool life in production environments.

Installation of indexable turning inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked before seating or indexing the insert. Inspect the insert seat and clamping pocket for debris or damage before installation. Handle PCBN inserts with care, as the cutting edges are brittle and susceptible to chipping from impact or improper handling.
