The SECO 02656233 is a solid carbide milling insert in the XOMX series, designed for indexable milling cutters used in precision metal removal operations. Carrying manufacturer grade MP3000 with a TiAlN PVD coating applied over a micrograin carbide substrate, it delivers hardness and thermal resistance suited for aggressive cutting in steel, stainless steel, and hard materials. The insert features a parallelogram shape with a positive rake angle of 14.6 degrees, a T-Land cutting edge style, and a 15-degree relief angle. It provides two right-hand cutting edges per insert and a corner radius of 0.0315 inches (1/32 inch).
This insert is intended for use in industrial milling applications where ferrous metals and hard workpiece materials are the primary stock. Typical install scenarios include face milling, shoulder milling, and profile milling on CNC machining centers. Compatible cutter series include R217.69-12 and R220.69-12. The MD13 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation across the rated material application range of steel, stainless steel, and hard material classifications H, P, and M. It is screw-held and single-sided, suitable for right-hand operation.
Designed for use with SECO cutter series R217.69-12 and R220.69-12. Rated for primary workpiece material classification H (hard material) and secondary classifications P (steel) and M (stainless steel). Insert size code 120408 per ISO standards.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians using the screw-hold mounting method standard to XOMX-series toolholders. Ensure the milling cutter is fully de-energized and the spindle is locked before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces before torquing the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the insert pocket for wear or debris that could affect seating and runout before each insert change.
