The SECO 02641984 is a solid carbide trigon milling insert in the XNEX-08 series, identified by ANSI/ISO code XNEX080616TR-M13 with chip breaker M13 and manufacturer grade F40M. This double-sided, right-hand insert features a TiAlN and TiN PVD coating applied over a fine-grain solid carbide substrate. It carries six cutting edges, a negative rake geometry with a 22-degree rake angle, and a T-Land cutting edge style. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.2953 inches and a corner radius of 0.0630 inches, it is designed for productive milling in demanding material applications. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians install this insert into compatible milling cutter bodies.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium in both roughing and finishing operations. The M13 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-duty cuts across these material groups, making the insert appropriate for general-purpose production milling in job shops and manufacturing environments. The insert is held by screw clamping in compatible cutter bodies. Minimum order quantity is 10 pieces; each package contains 1 piece.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R220.96-08. ANSI and ISO code XNEX080616TR-M13 with insert size code 080616 and series designation XNEX-08.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to tighten the clamping screw to the cutter body manufacturer's specified torque. Inspect the insert pocket seating surface and remove any chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and runout accuracy.
