The SECO 02636647 is a solid carbide cutoff insert designed for parting and grooving operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the TGP45 manufacturer grade with a CVD-applied Duratomic coating of TiCN and Al2O3, providing wear resistance and thermal stability across a broad range of workpiece materials. The cutting width is 0.122 inches with a corner radius of 0.008 inches, and the insert is rated for a maximum depth of cut of 3.00 mm. It mounts via a clamp-style holder and is single-end only, making orientation straightforward during setup. Machinists and tool-crib technicians working in production turning environments handle installation of this insert.
This insert is suited for cut-off and parting applications on universal workpiece materials, including steels, stainless, and cast materials. It belongs to the Series 150.10 family and uses a size-3 insert seat. The 6-degree right-hand lead angle and chipbreaker style 14 geometry make it appropriate for right-hand turning setups where chip control and consistent parting performance are required. It is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces, making it a standard production-floor replenishment item for shops running SECO Series 150.10 tooling systems.
Designed for use with SECO Series 150.10 clamp-style cutoff toolholders accepting a size-3 insert seat with right-hand lead angle configuration.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully in the pocket before tightening the clamp to avoid rocking or misalignment that could cause premature edge failure. Inspect the insert seat and clamp for debris or damage each time the insert is replaced.
