The SECO 02625437 is a solid carbide multi-directional turning insert engineered for precision grooving and turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured in the TGP25 grade with a Duratomic TiCN/Al2O3 coating, this insert delivers consistent edge performance across interrupted cuts and continuous turning passes. The neutral hand orientation and double-end design maximize usable cutting edges per insert. With a cutting width of 0.236 inches, a cutting height of 0.177 inches, and a corner radius of 0.031 inches, it suits close-tolerance grooving work where dimensional repeatability is critical. Licensed machinists and CNC operators handling production turning work are the primary installers.
This insert is part of SECO's MDT (Multi-Directional Turning) series and is sized to the LCMF160608 format using style designation LCMF160608-0600-FT with the FT chipbreaker geometry. It is suited for machining cast iron, stainless steel, and carbon or alloy steel. The Duratomic coating process enhances thermal resistance and wear life, making this insert a practical choice for moderate to high material removal rates in both roughing and semi-finishing passes on those workpiece materials.
Designed for use in MDT-series toolholders accepting the LCMF160608 insert size. Compatible with workpiece materials coded K (cast iron), M (stainless steel), and P (steel) per ISO material classification.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Confirm the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is indexed to a safe position before changing inserts. Use a torx or hex key of the correct size for the toolholder clamping screw and torque per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before seating the new insert to avoid micro-fracture at the cutting edge.
