The SECO 02625435 is a solid carbide multi-directional turning insert designed for high-performance metal cutting in CNC turning applications. Carrying the TGP25 manufacturer grade, this insert features a Duratomic TiCN/Al2O3 coating process that improves wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and interrupted cuts. The LCMF style insert measures 0.630 inches in length with a maximum cutting width of 0.236 inches and a cutting height of 0.177 inches. A neutral hand orientation and double-end configuration make it a versatile option across a range of turning setups. The MT chipbreaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation at varied feed rates.
This insert is suited for turning operations on cast iron, stainless steel, and carbon steel workpieces, covering ISO material codes K, M, and P. It is used in production and job-shop environments where consistent tool life and predictable chip control are required. The double-end design allows both ends to be indexed, extending useful life per insert. It fits LCMF-style toolholders in the MDT series and is appropriate for light to moderate material removal passes on CNC lathes and turning centers operated by skilled machinists or CNC programmers.
Designed for use with LCMF-style toolholders in the SECO MDT (Multi-Directional Turning) series. Compatible insert style code is LCMF160604-0600-MT. Verify toolholder seat geometry and clamping method before installation.
Insert seating and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine fully stopped and locked out. Ensure the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before installing the insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamping screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not overtighten. Confirm insert orientation and edge engagement before resuming cutting operations.
