The SECO 02623263 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation XNEX080608TR-MD15 in manufacturer grade F40M. It is a double-sided, trigon-shaped insert with six cutting edges, a negative rake angle of 17 degrees, and a T-Land cutting edge style. The insert features a PVD-applied TiAlN plus TiN dual coating for heat resistance and wear life in demanding milling operations. A 1/32-inch corner radius and MD15 chip breaker geometry suit it to a wide range of metal-removal applications in production and job-shop environments. It is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC milling setups.
This insert is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Primary material application codes are P, K, and S; secondary codes are K and N. It is a right-hand insert held by screw in compatible milling cutter bodies. The MD15 chip breaker geometry is designed to manage chip flow across light to moderate depths of cut, making this insert well suited to face milling, shoulder milling, and contouring passes where consistent chip evacuation is critical.
Designed for use with SECO cutter series R220.96-08 milling bodies that accept XNEX-08 series inserts. ANSI and ISO designation XNEX080608TR-MD15 applies.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces before torquing the clamping screw; use the torque value specified in the cutter body documentation. Inspect the pocket seating surfaces and screw threads for chips or damage before each insert change to prevent insert movement during cutting.
