The SECO 02623226 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation XNEX080608TR-ME09 in manufacturer grade F40M. This double-sided trigon-style insert features a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN coating over a fine-grain solid carbide substrate, producing a hard, wear-resistant cutting surface suited to demanding milling operations. The insert holds six cutting edges, a 1/32-inch corner radius, a negative rake geometry with a 27-degree rake angle, and a T-Land cutting edge style. It is designed for right-hand cutting and fits the R220.96-08 cutter series. Machinists and tool-room professionals install this insert in indexable milling toolholders where consistent edge life and thermal resistance are required.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium, covering primary material codes P, K, and S. The ME09 chip breaker geometry supports stable chip evacuation across these materials. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose material removal in both production and job-shop environments. The double-sided design doubles the number of usable edges per insert, reducing per-edge tooling cost on high-volume runs. It is compatible with the SECO XNEX-08 series and the R220.96-08 cutter body platform.

Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians following standard indexable-insert procedures. Power down and lock out the spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturers specified screw torque range, and ensure the insert pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Do not attempt to resharpen PVD-coated carbide inserts in the field.
