The SECO 02623084 is a solid carbide multi-directional turning insert designed for precision grooving and turning operations in metalworking applications. Part of the MDT series, this insert carries the LCMR160608 style designation with a TGP25 manufacturer grade and Duratomic coating process. It features a neutral hand orientation and MT chipbreaker geometry, with a cutting height of 0.177 inches and a maximum cutting width of 0.236 inches (6.00 mm). The 7-degree relief angle supports controlled chip formation across a range of ferrous workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary installers of this consumable insert.
This insert is suited for single-end grooving, profiling, and turning on CNC lathes and turning centers handling cast iron, stainless steel, and steel workpieces. The TGP25 grade with Duratomic coating provides wear resistance and thermal stability across these material groups, corresponding to ISO material codes K, M, and P. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces, making it appropriate for production tooling programs where consistent insert performance and batch replenishment are required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for MDT series multi-directional turning toolholders accepting LCMR160608 insert geometry.
This insert is installed by qualified CNC machinists or tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and insert screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not overtighten the clamping screw, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert.
