The SECO 02623041 is a solid carbide multi-directional turning insert engineered for high-performance grooving and turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the LCMF130404-0400-FT style standard, it features a TGP25 manufacturer grade with a Duratomic TiCN/Al2O3 coating process for improved wear resistance and thermal stability. The insert has a 0.157 inch cutting width, 0.157 inch cutting height, and a 0.016 inch corner radius. It is a double-end, neutral-hand insert with a full radius profile and a 7-degree relief angle. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production turning environments are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is suited for machining cast iron, stainless steel, and carbon steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes K, M, and P. It is designed for use in MDT series multi-directional turning toolholders. The FT chipbreaker geometry supports stable chip control across a range of turning and grooving passes. Both ends of the insert are usable, extending tool life per insert and reducing tooling cost per edge. Typical applications include OD grooving, face grooving, and turning in medium to high production environments.
Designed for use with MDT series multi-directional turning toolholders accepting LCMF-style inserts. Confirm toolholder seat geometry and insert pocket dimensions before installation.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key torque wrench to seat the insert clamp — do not over-tighten by hand. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert to prevent micro-fracture at the cutting edge.
