The SECO 02623038 is a solid carbide multi-directional turning insert designed for grooving and turning operations in CNC and manual lathe applications. It carries the style designation LCMF1603M0-0300-MP and is manufactured in material grade TGP25 with a Duratomic coating process. The insert features a neutral hand orientation and a double-end configuration, allowing for flexible tool path approaches. With a cutting height of 0.177 inches and a maximum cutting width of 0.118 inches, it is suited for precision grooving passes. The MP chipbreaker geometry supports chip control across a range of cutting conditions. Licensed machinists and CNC operators handling ferrous materials are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is built for use on cast iron, stainless steel, and steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes K, M, and P. It fits into the MDT series tooling system and is appropriate for both production and job-shop turning environments where multi-directional cutting paths are required. The full-radius insert geometry and 7-degree relief angle make it well suited for profiling and grooving passes where controlled chip formation is critical. It is sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
Designed for use with MDT series multi-directional turning toolholders accepting LCMF style inserts. Suitable for machining cast iron (K), stainless steel (M), and steel (P) workpiece materials.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. The machine spindle must be brought to a full stop and the tool turret or holder must be locked out before seating or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the insert clamp — do not overtighten by hand estimation. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating to ensure proper contact and runout accuracy.
