The SECO 02616002 is a DNMG 433-MF4 series indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide with a multilayer TiAlN and TiN PVD coating. The insert carries the TS2500 manufacturer grade and is engineered primarily for cutting superalloys and titanium, with secondary capability in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. It features a 55-degree diamond shape, a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, a 3/64 inch (0.0472 inch) corner radius, and 4 cutting edges. The MF4 chip breaker geometry is chamfered and honed for controlled chip formation in demanding materials. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists use this insert in production and job-shop environments where tool life and surface finish consistency in difficult workpiece materials are critical.
This insert is suited for external turning, facing, boring, and back turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Its negative rake geometry and DNMG-MF4 series designation make it compatible with standard DNMG-style toolholders using clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing the insert. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris prior to indexing to avoid seating errors that can affect surface finish and tool life.
