The SECO 02616000 is a solid carbide turning insert in the VNMG 332-MF4 series, designed for precision metal cutting in demanding machining environments. It carries a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating under the TS2500 grade designation, providing thermal resistance and wear protection during high-speed cutting. The insert features a 35-degree diamond shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/32-inch corner radius, and a negative rake geometry with a chamfered and honed cutting edge. Four cutting edges per insert extend tool life. The MF4 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation in finishing and medium-cut applications. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, aerospace, and general manufacturing install this insert in compatible toolholders.
This insert is primarily rated for superalloys and titanium (ISO material code S), with secondary application across steel, stainless steel, and cast iron (ISO codes P, M, and K). It is well-suited for back turning, facing, profiling, and general turning operations. The VNMG insert style and neutral hand orientation make it compatible with a wide range of standard VNMG-style toolholders used in CNC lathes and turning centers. It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with the ISO code VNMG160408-MF4 and industry standard number VNMG332-MF4.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for standard VNMG-style toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, 3/16-inch thick insert with a 0.150-inch hole diameter. Suitable for CNC lathes and turning centers configured for VNMG 332 inserts with clamp, pin, or lever lock retention.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the insert seat and toolholder pocket for debris or damage before seating the new insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping specifications for the specific holding method in use.
