The SECO 02615999 is a solid carbide turning insert in the VNMG 331-MF4 series, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual lathe applications. It features a 35-degree diamond insert shape with a neutral hand orientation and a 0-degree relief angle. The multilayer PVD coating combines TiAlN and TiN for high heat resistance and extended tool life, particularly in difficult-to-machine materials. With an inscribed circle of 0.375 inches and a corner radius of 0.0157 inches, this insert suits finishing and medium-roughing passes. Machinists and tooling specialists install this insert where tight tolerances and surface integrity are required.
This insert is intended for turning, facing, profiling, and back turning operations. Its primary workpiece material is superalloys and titanium (ISO material code S), making it well suited for aerospace and high-temperature alloy components. It also performs in steel (P), stainless steel (M), and cast iron (K) applications. The MF4 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation at moderate feeds and depths, and the chamfered and honed cutting edge style reduces edge chipping in interrupted or variable-hardness cuts.
