The SECO 02615981 is a TNMG 432-MR4 indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide with a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating in the TS2500 grade. The triangular insert geometry features a 60-degree included angle, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, a 0.0315-inch corner radius, and a negative rake with T-Land cutting edge style. Six usable cutting edges are available per insert. The MR4 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation across a range of depths of cut up to 0.7874 inches. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible turning tool holders for production and job-shop metalcutting applications.
This insert is engineered primarily for machining superalloys and titanium (ISO material group S), with secondary suitability for steel, stainless steel, and cast iron (ISO groups P, M, and K). Typical applications include external turning, facing, boring, and back turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The neutral hand orientation makes it suitable for both left- and right-hand tool holder setups. The insert is held by clamp, pin, or lever-lock style holders compatible with the TNMG insert seat standard.

Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine fully stopped and the spindle locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Inspect the insert pocket seat and shim for wear or debris before seating the new insert. Torque the clamping screw or lever to the tool holder specification provided by the holder manufacturer. Verify depth-of-cut and feed parameters against the TS2500 grade cutting data recommendations before resuming production.
