The SECO 02615959 is a CNMG 542-MR4 indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide with a multilayer TiAlN and TiN PVD coating and TS2500 manufacturer grade. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape (Shape Code C), a negative rake geometry, and a T-Land cutting edge style with the MR4 chip breaker. It provides four usable cutting edges and is designed for turning, facing, and boring operations across a range of workpiece materials. The 5/8-inch (0.6250 inch) inscribed circle and 1/32-inch (0.0315 inch) corner radius are standard CNMG 542 geometry. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, oil and gas, and general metalworking shops are the primary users of this insert.
The 02615959 is optimized as a primary grade for superalloys and titanium (ISO Material Code S, Material Grades S10 and S20). Secondary applications include steel, stainless steel, and cast iron (ISO Material Codes P, M, and K). The MR4 chip breaker geometry supports stable chip control during medium to roughing passes on difficult-to-machine materials. This insert suits both CNC turning centers and manual lathes where CNMG-style toolholders with clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding are in use.

Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and clamping procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping mechanism for chips, damage, or wear before seating a new insert. Do not exceed the insert's rated maximum depth of cut for the workpiece material and cutting conditions in use.
