The SECO 02615951 is a solid carbide turning insert in the VNGP-M1 series, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 35-degree diamond shape (V insert shape code) with a neutral hand orientation and a sharp cutting edge style. The insert carries a multilayer TiAlN and TiN PVD coating under the manufacturer grade TS2000, providing wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted and continuous cuts. With a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 1/64-inch corner radius, it suits applications demanding tight geometry control and consistent chip formation. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible toolholders for production and job-shop turning work.
This insert is engineered primarily for stainless steel and superalloys including titanium, with secondary suitability for steel, cast iron, and hard materials. The M1 chip breaker geometry supports back turning, facing, profiling, and general turning operations across a wide length range. Material grades M05, M10, S10, and S15 define its cutting parameter envelope. The insert is sold individually but requires a minimum order of 10 pieces per transaction. It conforms to ANSI and ISO standards, with an ISO code of VNGG160404-M1 and an industry standard number of VNGP331-M1.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-catalog turning insert for VNGP-style toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, 3/16-inch thick diamond insert with a 0.150-inch hole diameter, conforming to ANSI and ISO VNGP331 geometry standards.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Secure the insert using the appropriate clamp, pin, or lever lock mechanism specified by the toolholder manufacturer, and verify proper seating before resuming cuts. Follow ANSI and ISO toolholder torque and clamping guidelines for VNGP-style inserts.
