The SECO 02615935 is a DNMG 432-MF4 solid carbide turning insert in the TS2000 grade, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual lathe applications. It features a 55-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation and a chamfered and honed cutting edge for controlled chip formation. The insert is coated with a multilayer TiAlN and TiN PVD coating, providing wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. With four usable cutting edges and an MF4 chip breaker geometry, it is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes. Machinists and tooling specialists working in production turning environments are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is optimized for primary use on stainless steel and superalloys and titanium, with secondary suitability for steel, cast iron, and hard materials. The MF4 chip breaker geometry is engineered for medium to light feeds on difficult-to-machine materials. Typical applications include back turning, boring, facing, and general turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers in both job shop and production environments. Material grades M05, M10, S10, and S15 define the recommended workpiece material and cut condition range for this insert.
Designed for use in toolholders that accept DNMG 432 inserts with clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods. Industry standard designations DNMG150408-MF4 (ISO) and DNMG432-MF4 (ANSI) apply. Verify toolholder pocket geometry and clamping style before installation.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench or insert key specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the clamping screw or lever lock mechanism. Inspect the toolholder pocket for wear or debris before seating the insert to ensure proper contact and edge registration.
