The SECO 02615927 is a CNMG 432-MF4 solid carbide turning insert coated with multilayer TiAlN and TiN via a PVD process. It carries the TS2000 manufacturer grade and is engineered for high wear resistance with moderate toughness across steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpiece materials. The insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, a 0.0315-inch corner radius, and four usable cutting edges. The MF4 chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing and medium machining operations. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert in standard CNMG-compatible toolholders for boring, facing, and turning applications.
This insert is suited for use on CNC lathes and turning centers handling stainless steel and superalloys as primary workpiece materials, with secondary suitability for steel, cast iron, and hard materials. The neutral hand orientation makes it compatible with both right- and left-hand toolholder setups. Material grades M05, M10, S10, and S15 reflect its application range across ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H. The MF4 chip breaker geometry controls chip flow effectively in finishing passes and light-to-medium depth-of-cut scenarios, reducing heat buildup and extending tool life in demanding turning applications.
Designed for CNMG 432 compatible toolholders using clamp, pin, or lever lock insert holding methods. Conforms to ANSI insert code CNMG432 and ISO insert code CNMG120408 (ISO code CNMG120408-MF4). Intended for use with ISO workpiece material groups P, M, K, S, and H.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the toolholder secured before seating or replacing the insert. Confirm that the toolholder pocket and clamping mechanism are clean and free of chips before installing. Do not exceed the recommended depth-of-cut range for the selected chip breaker geometry, as overloading can cause insert fracture.
