The SECO 02615926 is a CNMG 431-MF4 turning insert in the TS2000 grade, manufactured from solid carbide with a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating. The insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a 0.5 inch inscribed circle and a 1/64 inch (0.0157 inch) corner radius. It carries a negative rake, negative side clearance, and a neutral hand, making it suitable for finishing and medium machining operations. The MF4 chip breaker geometry is engineered for controlled chip formation across a range of metalcutting applications. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install these inserts in indexable turning toolholders on manual and CNC lathes.
This insert is designed for turning, facing, and boring operations on stainless steel and superalloys as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability on steel, cast iron, and hard materials. The TS2000 grade delivers high wear resistance to moderate wear resistance with appropriate toughness across P, M, K, S, and H material codes. It is suited for both light finishing passes and medium stock removal cuts, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.4921 inch. The CNMG 431-MF4 geometry is a widely used standard in production turning environments handling difficult-to-machine alloys.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard indexable insert for CNMG 431 / ISO CNMG 120404 toolholder pockets using clamp, pin, or lever lock retention. Compatible with boring, facing, and turning applications per the MF4 series designation.
Installation is performed by machinists and CNC operators following standard indexable insert procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Use the correct torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specified retention method — clamp, pin, or lever lock — and do not overtighten the clamping screw beyond toolholder specifications. Inspect the insert seat and clamping surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new edge.
