The SECO 02615925 is a solid carbide turning insert in the WNMP-MF1 series, designed for high-performance metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating under the TS2000 grade designation, which supports cutting in demanding materials including stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The insert features an 80-degree trigon (W) shape with a neutral hand orientation, a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch (0.0315 inch) corner radius. The MF1 chip breaker geometry and honed cutting edge are optimized for medium finishing work. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible toolholders as a direct replacement when edges are worn or chipped.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on CNC lathes in both production and job-shop environments. Primary target materials are stainless steel (ISO M) and superalloys and titanium (ISO S). It also performs as a secondary option on steel (ISO P), cast iron (ISO K), and hard materials (ISO H). The MF1 geometry makes it well matched to finishing and light-to-medium roughing passes where controlled chip formation and surface finish consistency are priorities. Material grades M05, M10, S10, and S15 define its recommended application range.
Designed for use in WNMP-style toolholders that accept a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle, 3/16-inch thick trigon insert with a 0.2028-inch hole diameter. Compatible with clamp, pin, and lever lock holding methods. Suitable for turning, facing, and boring applications on stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, steel, cast iron, and hard materials per ISO material codes M, S, P, K, and H.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to the toolholder manufacturer's specified seating procedure when securing the clamp, pin, or lever lock. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before installing a fresh edge to ensure proper contact and runout.
