The SECO 02615919 is a solid carbide turning insert in the WNGP-MF1 series, designed for precision metal cutting in demanding machining environments. This trigon-style insert features an 80-degree included angle, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 0.008-inch corner radius. It carries a TS2000 manufacturer grade with a multilayer TiAlN and TiN PVD coating that supports performance in high-wear applications. With six cutting edges and a sharp cutting edge style, this insert delivers consistent results in finishing and semi-finishing operations. It is installed by machinists and CNC tooling specialists working on lathes and boring setups.
This insert is rated for primary use on stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material codes M and S), making it well suited for aerospace, medical, and energy sector part production. Secondary applications include steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO codes P, K, and H). The MF1 chip breaker geometry supports boring, facing, and turning operations. It is compatible with clamp, pin, and lever lock insert holding methods. The insert is neutral-hand and can be positioned for a wide range of toolholder configurations.
Designed for use in WNGP-style toolholders that accept clamp, pin, or lever lock insert retention. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards; ISO code WNGG060402-MF1, industry standard number WNGP330.5-MF1. Suitable for CNC lathes and manual turning centers configured for trigon W-style inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Before changing inserts, power down and lock out the machine per facility safety procedures. Seat the insert firmly in the toolholder pocket and secure with the appropriate clamping method; do not overtighten mechanical clamps beyond toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify insert orientation and clearance before resuming cutting operations.
