The SECO 02615909 is an SNMG 432-MR3 indexable turning insert manufactured from solid carbide and coated with a multilayer TiAlN and TiN PVD coating under the TS2000 grade designation. The insert features a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, and a 0.0315-inch (1/32 inch) corner radius with a chamfered and honed cutting edge style. The MR3 chip breaker geometry and negative rake angle make this insert well suited for demanding cutting applications in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. With 8 available cutting edges, it delivers consistent performance in boring, facing, and turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers.
This insert is designed primarily for material grades M05, M10, S10, and S15, targeting stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium as primary workpiece materials. Secondary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, and hard materials. The neutral hand orientation and SNMG-MR3 series geometry support a wide range of turning center setups. The maximum depth of cut reaches 0.4685 inches, and the insert length is 0.5000 inches. It is compatible with clamp, pin, and lever lock holding methods, making it adaptable to common toolholder configurations used in production turning environments. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards for SNMG indexable turning inserts (ISO code SNMG120408-MR3, industry standard number SNMG432-MR3). Designed to fit any SNMG-compatible toolholder that accepts a 0.5-inch inscribed circle square insert with a 0.2028-inch hole diameter using clamp, pin, or lever lock retention.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tool setters following standard indexable insert procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Ensure the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before clamping.
