It carries a TS2000 manufacturer grade and features a multilayer PVD coating combining TiAlN and TiN for extended tool life and heat resistance. The insert has a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, and a 0.0315-inch corner radius. With 8 available cutting edges and a negative rake geometry, it delivers consistent performance across high-demand roughing and finishing passes on stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium.
This insert is suited for CNC turning centers and manual lathes in job shop, production, and aerospace machining environments. It supports boring, facing, and turning operations. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material codes M and S). Secondary applications include steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO codes P, K, and H). The MF1 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium finishing cuts where chip control and surface finish consistency are critical. Installation is performed by machining professionals using appropriate insert toolholders with clamp, pin, or lever lock retention. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for clamping screws; do not overtighten.
