The SECO 02615905 is a DNMP 441-MF1 carbide turning insert designed for precision material removal in demanding machining applications. Coated with a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN finish in the TS2000 grade, this insert is engineered for work on stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium as primary workpiece materials. It features a 55-degree diamond shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a honed cutting edge style. The MF1 chip breaker geometry supports stable chip control across a range of cutting conditions. Licensed machinists and CNC lathe operators running high-performance turning centers are the primary installers and users of this insert.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, boring, and back turning operations in both production and job-shop environments. Its negative rake geometry and four cutting edges maximize tool life and cost efficiency per edge. Secondary workpiece material compatibility includes steel, cast iron, and hard materials, making it a versatile option across multiple ISO material groups. The insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standards and carries the ISO code DNMG150604-MF1, which simplifies cross-referencing with existing tool management systems.
Designed for use in DNMP-style toolholders accepting a 441 insert size with clamp, pin, or lever lock retention. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards; ISO equivalent designation is DNMG150604-MF1. Suitable for material grades M05, M10, S10, and S15 per ISO classification.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Verify toolholder pocket condition and clamping hardware torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before resuming cuts. Do not use damaged or chipped inserts, as edge failure can result in workpiece damage or toolholder seat wear.
