The SECO 02615902 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMP 432-MF1 series, designed for high-performance metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a TS2000 grade multilayer PVD coating combining TiAlN and TiN for wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The insert features a 55-degree diamond shape (D), a 1/2-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. With four cutting edges, a neutral hand orientation, and a honed edge style, the MF1 chip breaker geometry is tuned for finishing and medium finishing passes in difficult-to-machine materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible toolholders using clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding methods.
This insert is engineered primarily for stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material groups M and S). It also performs in secondary applications on steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO groups P, K, and H). Typical applications include back turning, boring, facing, and general turning operations. The MF1 chip breaker geometry is suited for light to medium depths of cut where chip control and surface finish are critical. The insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standards, with an ISO designation of DNMG150408-MF1, making it cross-referenceable to standard toolholder systems worldwide.
Designed for use in DNMP-style toolholders accepting a 432 insert size with a 0.2028-inch hole diameter. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards; ISO industry standard number DNMP432-MF1, ISO code DNMG150408-MF1. Suitable for toolholders using clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding methods.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips before clamping. Do not exceed the recommended maximum depth of cut for the selected workpiece material and chip breaker geometry.
