The SECO 02615893 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CNGP 431-MF1 series, grade TS2000, designed for precision metal removal on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features an 80-degree diamond insert shape with a neutral hand orientation and a sharp cutting edge style. The multilayer PVD coating combines TiAlN and TiN for thermal resistance and wear life. With a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 1/64-inch (0.0157 inch) corner radius, this insert is built for finishing and semi-finishing operations on demanding workpiece materials. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is designed for primary use on stainless steel and superalloys including titanium, with secondary application on steel, cast iron, and hard materials. It supports boring, facing, and turning operations, making it a versatile single insert for multiple setups. The MF1 chip breaker geometry is suited for light to medium feeds and depths of cut, targeting clean chip control in difficult-to-machine materials. It conforms to ANSI and ISO standards, with an ISO code of CNGG120404-MF1 and an industry standard number of CNGP431-MF1.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard CNGP 431-MF1 form-factor insert compatible with toolholders accepting CNGP-style inserts with clamp, pin, or lever lock holding. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards; ISO code CNGG120404-MF1 and industry standard number CNGP431-MF1 apply for cross-reference.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine before seating or indexing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamp hardware for the toolholder style in use. Inspect the insert pocket for debris or damage before seating a new insert, and never force an insert into a damaged or misaligned pocket.
