The SECO 02615886 is a TCMT-style triangular carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to the TCMT 32.51-F1 geometry with the TS2000 grade, it features a multilayer TiAlN and TiN PVD coating that extends tool life when cutting stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The insert has a 3/8 inch inscribed circle, a 1/64 inch corner radius, and a sharp cutting edge style with the F1 chip breaker. A 7-degree relief angle and positive rake geometry reduce cutting forces and improve surface finish. The screw-lock holding method provides rigid, repeatable seating in compatible toolholders. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is suited for light-to-medium turning, facing, boring, and back-turning operations. Its primary application is in stainless steel and superalloy or titanium workpieces, classified under ISO material codes M and S. It is also rated for secondary use on steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO codes P, K, and H). Material grades M05, M10, S10, and S15 define the recommended cutting parameter range. The F1 chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing and semi-finishing passes where chip control and surface quality are critical priorities.
Designed for use in screw-lock TCMT-style toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO TCMT 32.51 insert pocket specifications. Compatible toolholders must accommodate a 0.1772 inch hole diameter and triangular insert geometry with clearance code C and tolerance code M.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine fully powered down and spindle locked before changing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torque driver for the screw-lock fastener to avoid cracking the carbide substrate — do not overtighten by feel alone. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Verify cutting parameters against the M05, M10, S10, and S15 grade recommendations before resuming cuts.
