The SECO 02615884 is a round carbide turning insert in the RCMT-F2 series, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC turning applications. Carrying the TS2000 manufacturer grade, the insert features a multilayer PVD coating of TiAlN and TiN, which supports heat resistance and extended tool life in demanding cuts. The inscribed circle measures 0.2362 inches (6.00 mm), the insert thickness is 0.0937 inches, and the corner radius is 0.1181 inches. Its 360-degree round shape and positive rake geometry allow full rotation indexing, giving machinists four usable cutting edges per insert. The F2 chip breaker controls chip flow across a range of operations.
This insert is suited for facing, profiling, and turning operations on CNC lathes in job shop, production, and contract machining environments. The primary target workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, which align with ISO material codes M and S. Secondary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, and hard materials. The neutral hand orientation and screw-holding method make it straightforward to seat in compatible RCMT-style toolholders. It is appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes within its rated depth of cut.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamping screw, and confirm the screw torque with the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the insert pocket and screw threads for chips or damage before seating a new insert to avoid premature edge failure.
