The SECO 02615883 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DCMT series, designed for precision metal-cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a multilayer PVD coating of TiAlN and TiN under the TS2000 manufacturer grade, which improves wear resistance and thermal stability during high-speed cuts. The insert features a 55-degree diamond shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/32-inch corner radius, and a positive rake geometry with a sharp cutting edge. Two cutting edges per insert and screw-hole clamping make it a practical choice for production turning environments where tool changes must be fast and repeatable.
This insert is primarily suited for machining stainless steel and superalloys including titanium, with secondary capability on steel, cast iron, and hard materials. The F1 chip breaker geometry supports back turning, boring, facing, and standard turning operations. It fits DCMT-style toolholders and is appropriate for shops running aerospace, medical, and general precision-machining work where material grades M05, M10, S10, and S15 are common. The insert conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with an ISO designation of DCMT11T308-F1 and an industry standard number of DCMT32.52-F1.
Designed for use in DCMT-style screw-on toolholders. ISO designation DCMT11T308-F1 and industry standard number DCMT32.52-F1 govern toolholder fitment. Compatible with DCMT-series insert pockets meeting ANSI and ISO specifications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specification — do not over-torque, as this can crack the carbide insert. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for debris before seating a new insert.
