The SECO 02615881 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DCMT series, designed for precision metal cutting in demanding machining environments. It carries the TS2000 manufacturer grade and features a multilayer PVD coating of TiAlN and TiN, which extends tool life and supports higher cutting speeds. The insert has a 55-degree diamond shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch corner radius with a sharp cutting edge style. Chip breaking is handled by the F1 chip breaker geometry. A neutral hand orientation and positive rake angle make it suitable for a range of turning operations managed by qualified machinists and tooling technicians.
This insert is primarily rated for stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials, placing it squarely in ISO material groups M and S. Secondary applications cover steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO groups P, K, and H). It is suited for back turning, boring, facing, and general turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers in both job shop and production environments. The insert mounts via screw-hold method and conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with an ISO code of DCMT11T304-F1 and an industry standard number of DCMT32.51-F1.
Designed for use in DCMT-series screw-clamp toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, 55-degree diamond insert. Compatible toolholders must match the DCMT insert style, clearance code C, and tolerance code M. Verified compatible workpiece material grades include M05, M10, S10, and S15 per ISO classification.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or replacing any insert. Ensure the toolholder pocket and clamping screw are free of chips and debris before seating the insert, as contamination affects seating accuracy and edge life. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specification for the clamping screw; do not overtighten.
