The SECO 02615880 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DCMT 21.51-F1 series, finished with a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating under the TS2000 manufacturer grade designation. It features a 55-degree diamond insert shape, a 1/4-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch corner radius. The F1 chip breaker geometry produces a sharp cutting edge with positive rake, making it well suited for precision turning operations where surface finish and edge stability matter. Installation is performed by licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians using standard screw-clamp toolholders.
This insert is designed primarily for machining stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium, with secondary capability on steel, cast iron, and hard materials. The neutral hand orientation supports back turning, boring, facing, and turning applications in both CNC and manual lathe setups. It conforms to ANSI and ISO standards and carries the ISO designation DCMT070204-F1, making it a direct fit in compatible DCMT-style screw-lock toolholders used in light to medium material removal applications.
Designed for use in DCMT-style screw-lock toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO DCMT070204-F1 specifications. Suitable for back turning, boring, facing, and turning operations on stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, steel, cast iron, and hard materials.
This insert is installed and changed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before seating or replacing an insert. Use the correct torque driver for the screw-clamp holding method to avoid seat damage or insert cracking. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before installing a new insert.
