The SECO 02615879 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DCMT 21.50.5-F1 series, grade TS2000, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 55-degree diamond shape (Insert Shape Code D), a TiAlN and TiN multilayer PVD coating, and an F1 chip breaker geometry optimized for sharp, positive-rake cutting. The inscribed circle measures 0.25 inches, the corner radius is 0.0079 inches, and the maximum depth of cut reaches 0.2992 inches. This insert is aimed at machinists and CNC operators working with stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium where edge sharpness and coating durability are critical.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, boring, and back turning operations in both roughing and finishing passes on stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium as primary workpiece materials. Secondary applications include steel, cast iron, and hard materials. The neutral hand orientation and screw-holding method make it compatible with standard DCMT-style toolholders used in production and job-shop environments. It conforms to ANSI and ISO standards, with the ISO code DCMT070202-F1. Sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in DCMT-style screw-lock toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO DCMT070202-F1 specifications. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material codes M and S); secondary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO codes P, K, and H). Material grades M05, M10, S10, and S15 apply.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder specification — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and cutting-edge repeatability.
