The SECO 02615876 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT 32.52-F1 series, designed for precision metal removal in CNC and manual lathe applications. It carries a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating over a carbide substrate, which extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/32-inch corner radius, and a positive rake geometry with the F1 chip breaker. It has two cutting edges, uses a screw-type clamping method, and is suited to finishing and medium-roughing passes on challenging workpiece materials. Machinists and CNC setup technicians are the primary installers.
This insert is primarily targeted at stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium machining where PVD coatings outperform CVD alternatives due to lower cutting-edge temperatures and sharper edge retention. It also performs in secondary applications on steel, cast iron, and hard materials. Typical operations include turning, boring, and facing. The F1 chip breaker geometry is optimized for positive-rake, light-to-medium depth-of-cut work, making it well suited to finishing passes where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are priorities.
Designed for use in CCMT-style turning toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO standards. ISO designation CCMT09T308-F1 and industry standard number CCMT32.52-F1 can be used to cross-reference compatible toolholder pockets. Applicable material grades include M05, M10, S10, and S15 per ISO classification.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. The machine spindle must be stopped and the toolholder fully secured in the turret before indexing or replacing the insert. Use the correct torque driver for the insert screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification to avoid seat damage or insert fracture. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
