The SECO 02615873 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT-F1 series, designed for high-precision metal cutting operations including turning, facing, and boring. It carries an ANSI insert code of CCMT21.51 and an ISO code of CCMT060204. The insert is coated with a multilayer TiAlN and TiN PVD coating under the TS2000 manufacturer grade, delivering high wear resistance suited to demanding cutting environments. With a 0.25-inch inscribed circle, a 0.0157-inch corner radius, and four usable cutting edges, this insert is built for finishing operations where surface quality and dimensional accuracy are critical. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in production shops are the primary users.
This insert is applied in finishing-grade turning, facing, and boring of stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, steel, cast iron, and hard materials. The F1 chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing passes with light to moderate depths of cut, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.2362 inches. The positive rake and positive side clearance geometry reduce cutting forces and help maintain edge integrity on difficult-to-machine alloys. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the machine powered down and all axes at rest. Inspect the cutting edge and chip breaker geometry before each use and replace at first sign of chipping or edge wear.
