The SECO 02598774 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation APMX160408TR-M14 in manufacturer grade MP1500. It is a single-sided, right-hand parallelogram insert with a positive rake angle of 24 degrees and a T-Land cutting edge style. The insert features a CVD-applied Duratomic coating of TiCN and Al2O3, engineered to resist wear and thermal cracking during interrupted and continuous milling. With 2 cutting edges, a 0.6693-inch effective cutting edge length, and a maximum depth of cut of 0.6220 inches, this insert is suited for aggressive material removal on steel, cast iron, and hard materials. It is installed via screw-holding into compatible SECO cutter bodies.
This insert is designed for use in milling applications on primary workpiece materials classified under ISO P (steel) and secondary classifications ISO K (cast iron) and ISO H (hard material). Typical use cases include face milling and shoulder milling on ferrous components in production machining environments. The M14 chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip formation across a range of cutting parameters. Compatible cutter series include R217.69-16 and R220.69-16. This insert is appropriate for machinists and CNC operators working in job shop or production settings where consistent surface finish and tool life on steel and cast iron are required.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer when tightening the clamping screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
