The SECO 02590858 is a solid carbide indexable drill insert in the SCGX style, designed for use with Perfomax series indexable drills. It carries the DP2000 manufacturer grade and features a Duratomic coating process with TiCN and Al2O3 layers applied over a C6 carbide substrate. The insert has a square shape with a 90-degree included angle, a 7-degree relief angle, a 0.5-inch (12.7 mm) inscribed circle, and a 0.8 mm corner radius. The P2 chipbreaker geometry promotes controlled chip evacuation during drilling operations. Installation and setup are handled by machinists and CNC tooling specialists.
This insert is suited for drilling operations in cast iron and steel workpieces, covering primary material codes K and P. It is used in production and job-shop environments where indexable drill tooling is preferred for repeatable hole quality and reduced cycle times. The Perfomax series platform accepts this insert size code 12 format, making it a direct fit for compatible Perfomax drill bodies requiring the SCGX12P2 insert geometry.
Designed for use with Perfomax series indexable drill bodies that accept SCGX insert style in size code 12 with the SCGX12P2 geometry. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron (material code K) and steel (material code P).
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians. The drill body must be fully de-energized and the spindle locked or at a complete stop before seating or indexing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or socket-head key specified by the drill body manufacturer to achieve proper clamping torque without cracking the carbide. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before each insert change.
