The SECO 02590854 is a square SCGX-style indexable drill insert designed for use in Perfomax series indexable drills. Built from solid carbide with a Duratomic coating process, this insert carries the DP2000 manufacturer grade and is engineered for controlled, repeatable cutting performance in demanding drilling applications. It features a 90-degree included angle, a 7-degree relief angle, and a P2 chipbreaker geometry. The inscribed circle measures 0.2189 inches (5.56 mm), the width and length each measure 0.2190 inches (5.56 mm), and the thickness is 0.0937 inches. Material grade is C6. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working with indexable tooling systems install and index these inserts as part of routine tooling maintenance.
This insert is rated for primary workpiece materials including cast iron (ISO material code K) and steel (ISO material code P), making it well suited for production drilling in job shops, machine shops, and manufacturing facilities running ferrous materials. The P2 chipbreaker geometry supports chip control across a range of feed and speed conditions typical for these material classes. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units, consistent with standard indexable insert procurement for production environments.
Designed for use in SECO Perfomax series indexable drill bodies that accept SCGX 05-size inserts. Verify insert pocket geometry and size code against the specific drill body specification before installing.
Indexable insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and all axes in a safe, locked position. Use the correct torx or hex key torque driver specified by the drill body manufacturer when seating the insert screw — do not over-tighten or substitute fasteners. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before installing a new insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's indexing and replacement procedure to maintain runout and positional accuracy.
