The SECO 02587624 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in hard materials. Part of the JHP170 series, it features a 6 mm cutting diameter, a 6 mm length of cut, and a 0.2 mm corner radius that extends tool life by distributing cutting loads across a radiused edge rather than a sharp corner. The MEGA-64 coating provides wear resistance and thermal stability suited to aggressive roughing operations in hardened steels and other difficult-to-machine materials. Four right-hand spiral flutes deliver efficient chip evacuation in short-length-of-cut applications.
This end mill is intended for machining hard materials in precision metalworking environments. Its extended-reach geometry, with an 11.5 mm reach length and a necked-down diameter of 5.6 mm, makes it suitable for applications requiring access to features below the workpiece surface. The single-end, straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard collet chucks or end mill holders with a 6 mm bore. Typical users include CNC machinists, tool-and-die shops, and mold makers working with hardened tool steels and similar workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide end mill for use in standard 6 mm collet chucks or end mill holders; part of the SECO JHP170 series for hard-material roughing applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank to the full recommended insertion depth in the holder and torque the collet nut or set screw to the holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and verify runout does not exceed the 0.01 mm TIR maximum specified for this tool.
